Once you’ve accepted your offer, it’s time to get prepped – and psyched – for uni. That might mean getting your stuff together to move on-campus. Or maybe it’s a case of giving your laptop a service so you are ready to take your online study to the next level.
But you also want to get your study skills in tip-top shape so you can go into your first tutorial with confidence.
That’s why at Charles Sturt University (CSU), we have Study Link.
It’s the ultimate study prep program, where you can choose the skills and knowledge you want to brush up on, and study them at your own pace in the run-up to your degree.
And that’s not even the best news; Study Link is free to almost all students!
So, what is Study Link?
However you choose to study with CSU, we want to make sure you are ready to go from the first day of your course. Study Link has short, self-paced courses that you can take to fill knowledge gaps, enhance skills or just build your confidence.
Whether it’s been a while since you last studied, or you want to put yourself in the best position to make the move from high school to uni study, Study Link subjects have got you covered.
They are also a great way to dip your toe into uni study if you’re trying to decide whether to dive into a degree.
What can I study through Study Link?
Maybe you want to find out more about moving from TAFE to uni. Perhaps you feel you’d like to improve your grammar or essay writing. Or get a better grip on statistics, physics or maths. Well, Study Link has a subject for you.
And remember, Study Link isn’t part of your degree – it’s just there to help you make the next step. So, no pressure.
Plus, when you accept your offer of a place at CSU, we’ll enrol you in the Introduction to Online Learning subject so you can get up to speed with our digital learning environment.
How do I study a Study Link subject?
Almost all Study Link subjects are delivered online. You work through the course material and undertake knowledge reviews. And because it’s all online, you can do it whenever and wherever it suits you. You’ll also have support throughout from a subject coordinator who can give you feedback and point you in the direction of further resources.
We also run intensive weekend workshops for some subjects, so if learning face-to-face suits you better, we’ve got that too.
What do other people say about Study Link?
Leah Simmons is currently studying a Bachelor of Medical Science at CSU. Her Study Link subject helped her start her degree on the front foot.
‘After completing the Study Link chemistry course, I entered my first year of university with confidence and a solid foundation. Building on that foundation, I got a high distinction in my core chemistry subject. I strongly recommend enrolling in Study Link to maximise the time before your start your course.”
Karen Murray, Careers Adviser at Kildare Catholic College in Wagga Wagga always advises her graduating high school students to take a look at Study Link.
“I feel Study Link is an invaluable resource for any student planning on university study in the future. Many students do not study the assumed knowledge or recommended studies during their HSC, and this is a way to bridge the gap and set them up for success at university. The flexibility of it being online means that you can study when it suits you around your other commitments. An investment of your time now will pay huge dividends when you commence your university studies.”
